Rejuran vs. Skinvive vs. Juvelook vs. Re2O: Which Skin Booster Does What?

Rejuran uses salmon-derived PN to support recovery of thinned, tired skin, Skinvive is a hyaluronic acid gel for hydration and smoothness, Juvelook combines PDLLA and hyaluronic acid to stimulate collagen over time, and Re2O uses human acellular dermal matrix for advanced aging. The right one depends on your main concern, and the strength of the evidence differs between them.

Rejuran vs. Skinvive vs. Juvelook vs. Re2O: Which Skin Booster Does What?

“Which skin booster should I get in Korea?” sounds like a simple question, but the problem begins with the word “booster.” It covers products that have little in common except a needle. These four are made of different materials and do different jobs, so asking which is strongest does not really help. It is better to ask what your skin is short of.

How do the four boosters compare?

When is Rejuran the right choice?

I reach for Rejuran when skin looks tired rather than simply dry: it has become thin, reddens easily, recovers slowly after lasers, or has fine lines together with loose pores. PN is placed by hand into the dermis to support its ability to recover, and the change is gradual, usually over several sessions a few weeks apart.

The evidence is encouraging but not strong. A 2025 systematic review found reduced wrinkles and better texture and elasticity, with mild and transient side effects, across nine studies of low to moderate quality. You can read about costs and session planning in my Rejuran guide. Because the product comes from salmon, please tell me if you have a fish allergy.

When is Skinvive the right choice?

Skinvive suits people whose complaint is dryness and a lack of glow. Its small, soft hyaluronic acid droplets spread thinly through the dermis and draw in moisture. Of these four products, it has the most formal regulatory data that I can point you to. The US FDA approved it in 2023 for intradermal injection to improve the skin smoothness of the cheeks in adults over 21, and it is marketed outside the US as Juvéderm Volite.

In the FDA summary, about 56% of treated participants in the study still showed at least a one-point improvement on a cheek smoothness scale at six months. That is a useful reality check: it helps many people, not everyone, and it fades. Treatment-related events were reported in 3% of participants in the US study, and included itching, redness and bruising at the injection site.

It is contraindicated in people with a history of anaphylaxis or multiple severe allergies, and in those allergic to lidocaine or to Gram-positive bacterial proteins. Like other injectable gels, it carries rare but serious risks if product enters a blood vessel, including skin necrosis, vision impairment and stroke, which is why injector skill and anatomy matter. You can find more on our Skinvive page.

When is Juvelook the right choice?

Juvelook is the option to consider when you want density to build over time, or your concern is pores, scars and rough texture. It combines PDLLA, a biocompatible polymer, with hyaluronic acid. The PDLLA stimulates fibroblasts in the dermis, which is why results develop gradually rather than appearing the next day.

We often deliver it with Potenza, an RF microneedling device. The radiofrequency creates regeneration points, and the Pumping Tip drives product into those spots. The Potenza packages include Potenza Juvelook 3cc at 520,000 KRW and Potenza Juvelook 6cc at 800,000 KRW, VAT not included. Tips are charged separately, at 50,000 KRW for the Pumping Tip and 38,000 KRW for the standard tip. I explained the reasoning in an earlier column on the Potenza Pumping Tip and Juvelook.

Studies specific to Juvelook are still small. For instance, a 2026 study of 20 patients treated for nasolabial folds over three sessions rated 85% improved or much improved at three months, and reported only temporary swelling and bruising. A 2025 clinical guideline describes PDLLA as having a favorable safety profile, but notes rare reports of nodules or granulomas, which can appear months or even years later and do not respond to the enzyme that dissolves hyaluronic acid. This is a low-probability risk, but it is one you should understand, because it is a real difference from a pure hyaluronic acid product.

When is Re2O the right choice?

Re2O is the most specialized of the four. Elravie Re2O uses human acellular dermal matrix, which is what remains after cellular components are removed from human dermis. I consider it for skin in which aging has advanced after years without care, where the dermis has thinned and lost its structure. I would generally not use it for a young patient who only wants a glow.

Because the material is derived from human tissue, some patients will have personal or religious reasons for declining it, and that is entirely fine. Ask me whatever you want to know. Our Re2O page has further details.

Which one will give me “glass skin”?

“Glass skin” is a look, not a medical diagnosis, and no single product guarantees it. In practice it means a healthy barrier, an even texture and even hydration, so it usually comes from dealing with more than one of these. It also depends on pigment and redness, which boosters do not treat. If tone is your real issue, a laser may matter more than a booster. See my article on melasma and pigmentation lasers.

Which should you choose by concern?

Your main concernI would start the conversation with
Skin that feels tight soon after cleansing, or makeup that liftsSkinvive
Thin, reactive skin that takes time to recoverRejuran
You worry about injection painRejuran HB Plus or Skinvive, both of which contain lidocaine
Enlarged pores, acne scars, rough texturePotenza with Juvelook
Advanced thinning and loss of densityRe2O
Regeneration, hydration and glow together3-Layer Skinbooster
Sagging along the jawlineNot a booster. See my lifting comparison

Can you combine skin boosters?

Sometimes. Our 3-Layer Skinbooster places Rejuran, Skinvive and Glowy Booster at different depths in a single visit. The program of Rejuran Healer 2cc + Skinvive 1cc + Glowy Booster 2cc is 850,000 KRW, and the one with Rejuran HB Plus 3cc + Skinvive 1cc + Glowy Booster 2cc is 1,150,000 KRW, VAT not included. I adjust the order and amounts according to skin condition.

There is a downside to stacking, though. If you have several products at once, you cannot tell which one did what, and your recovery takes longer. If you are new to these treatments, it is completely reasonable to begin with one. That applies especially on a short trip, for which I suggest reading my Seoul trip planner.

What recovery should you expect?

Most people can return to daily life the same day. Rejuran’s raised marks usually subside within a day or two. Skinvive and Re2O can leave temporary swelling or small marks for a few days. After Potenza, redness or fine marks may last a few days. Bruises can take longer with any injection, and individual variation is considerable. If you have an important event coming up, tell me when you book. I inject by hand and personally oversee each stage, at Myeongdong Station (Line 4) Exit 8.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Juvelook better than Rejuran?

They do different things. I consider Rejuran for recovery of thin, tired skin, and Juvelook when you want collagen stimulation and denser texture over time. Your main concern should decide, not popularity.

Which skin booster lasts longest?

There is no good head-to-head comparison across all four products. In the FDA summary, Skinvive’s cheek smoothness results were followed to six months. Rejuran and Juvelook are usually discussed as a series with maintenance.

Is Rejuran or Skinvive better for dry skin?

If dryness and lack of glow are the main issues, I would usually look first at Skinvive. If the skin is also thin, reactive and slow to recover, Rejuran may be more appropriate, and sometimes they are planned together.

Can I get a skin booster and go out the same day?

Usually you can return to daily life the same day, but small raised marks, redness or bruises may be visible. Do not plan important photos immediately afterward.

Are skin boosters safe?

They are generally well tolerated, but they are medical injections with real risks, including bruising, nodules, infection and rare vascular events. Share your allergy and medical history, and ask who will perform the injection.
