Rejuran in Korea: Prices, Sessions and What One Trip Can Realistically Do

Rejuran has become one of the main reasons people plan a skin trip to Korea. Much of what circulates about it comes from social media, where one session is shown as a transformation. I have administered more than 10,000cc of Rejuran, and I think the most useful thing I can offer before you book is a set of realistic expectations: what it costs, how many sessions it takes, and what you can reasonably hope to see from a single visit.

How much does Rejuran cost at Karin Clinic?

Which product suits you is a separate question. I have covered it in an earlier column, Rejuran Healer vs. HB Plus, so I will not repeat it here. In short, HB Plus adds lidocaine and hyaluronic acid, and Healer is the original formula.

How many Rejuran sessions do you need?

Most people need more than one. Rejuran is not a treatment that changes everything in one visit. Commonly, several sessions are planned two to four weeks apart, followed by maintenance, and firmness and texture settle gradually over that course. I adjust this according to skin thickness, barrier condition and sensitivity, so the number may be different for you.

The published evidence is promising but limited, and you should know that. A 2025 systematic review of polynucleotides in esthetic medicine included nine studies of low to moderate quality. It found reduced wrinkles, better texture and improved elasticity, with mild and transient side effects, and it concluded that more rigorous studies are still needed. I am comfortable using Rejuran, but I would not tell you it has the depth of evidence that some older treatments have.

What can one trip to Seoul realistically do?

This is the part most guides skip. If you only have one visit, these are the honest scenarios:

First Rejuran, one short trip	A start. You may notice some difference in hydration and texture, but this is not the full course.
Staying in Seoul for several weeks, or an expat	The easiest case: you can complete a planned series at regular intervals.
You return to Korea a few times a year	One session per trip works better as maintenance than as a first course. Your intervals will be longer than in a typical protocol.
You have a specific event coming up	Plan ahead. The raised marks fade quickly, but bruises can last longer, so do not schedule it just before the event.

If you can only do one session, I would rather plan a modest and well-placed dose than promise you what a series can do. I do not recommend treatments you do not need, and that includes extra cc.

Does Rejuran hurt, and what do the bumps look like?

Yes, it hurts more than many people expect. Rejuran is viscous and is placed into the dermis, so numbing cream matters, and so does technique. I inject by hand and adjust the needle angle and pressure to reduce bruising and discomfort. HB Plus contains lidocaine, which further eases discomfort for patients who are worried about it.

Afterward you will have embossing, the small raised bumps at each injection site. They usually subside within a day or two, although this varies. Small bruises, redness and swelling can also occur. Published patient accounts range a great deal, particularly when Rejuran is stacked with lasers or other treatments on the same day. Who should be careful with Rejuran?

Rejuran’s key ingredient is polynucleotide (PN), purified from salmon. Purification removes most fish protein, but anyone with a fish allergy should raise it before any treatment. Please also tell me about any history of severe allergic reactions, skin infections in the area, and any pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Beyond the common effects, rarer risks of any intradermal injection include infection, nodules and vascular injury. These relate more to the injection itself than to the ingredient, which is another reason to ask who is holding the needle.

Is Rejuran FDA-approved?

A physician-authored article published this year states that, as of mid-2025, no injectable polynucleotide product had been approved or cleared by the FDA for cosmetic or dermatologic use, and that long-term data beyond one year are essentially absent. If you are coming from the US, this is one reason you may not find the injectable form offered at home under US regulatory review. It does not mean the treatment is unsafe, but you should make the decision knowing the regulatory picture and the limits of the data.

What happens at a Rejuran appointment?

It helps to know the sequence, especially if this is your first time:

1. Assessment. I personally look at your skin thickness, barrier condition and sensitivity.
2. Prescription. We decide between Rejuran Healer and HB Plus, and on the dosage and areas.
3. Numbing and opening. Numbing cream goes on first, and you can see the authentic product opened.
4. Injection by hand. I place the product through the dermis at consistent intervals and depth.
5. Soothing. Soothing care follows. The larger packages above include LDM, Cryocell or LED care.
6. Follow-up. We check your progress together and set your next care cycle, if you need one.

I insist on manual injection for Rejuran, rather than uniform machine injection. Because the product is viscous, discomfort and bruising can differ greatly with technique.

How do you know the Rejuran is genuine?

Karin Clinic is an officially certified Rejuran clinic. You can watch the authentic package being opened before your treatment, and we provide a certificate of authenticity afterward. We also confirm empty syringes after treatment, so that you can see the dosage you paid for was the dosage you received.

Should Rejuran be combined with something else?

Sometimes. Rejuran works in the dermis. It is not a lifting treatment, so it will not lift a heavy jawline. If sagging is the main concern, read my earlier column on combining Ultherapy and Rejuran.
